Miss-fish

Too many photos to start a 'chatting' entry. Just wanted to remark that I am receiving 'advise' to 'get another man' from the most unsuspected sources. So, please, "men" - would you kindly line up so I can have my pick? :D :D :D

There are two events during this days outing to the Nemaal that I didn't get a chance to take a photo of while I really would have liked to. The first is of a Karas I found playing dead :p in the middle of the puddle of water on my mezah and when I tried to (and succeeded in) throw it back into the sea his eyes turned the most amazing green one has ever seen. It was eerie though - as if in a horror movie. The green was beautiful, like the Emerald in my (only) ring on my finger - but at the same time very spooky. I decided against taking a photo because he obviously was suffering and I didn't want him to suffer any longer by me taking photos of him.
The other was of a little rock fish the waves of the sea had flipped over the balustrade. Cute little creature. Much, much cuter looking than the Karas, and also very much afraid each time I picked him up at his tail. In the end a little boy standing near picked him up while holding his head and on my instructions threw him back in the sea.

The story today:

As I was to thread on the Red Carpet that was laid out before me at the beginning of my route:
30-7-2009-red-carpet

I found many of these pretty flowers - way too young to die :(
30-7-2009-too-young-to-die

However when I turned around I found the next view, which reminded me of 'nearly dead' stories I heard people talk about: the Tunnel of Light (must be there for these pretty little flowers as well)

I looked up and saw at some 30 cm above my head these lemons. I could almost hear them say "pick me".

As I was approaching the exit of Ramat-Gan I noticed the tree with the pricky stem had grown its super-soft and magnificent beautiful flowers again. Contradictions. It seems I am not the only one struggling with those:

After having spent time at my mezah and partly regaining 'myself' again (after playing the employee all week for 13 hours a day) - I went on towards Reading and saw a Kingfisher fly over my head. Of course way too fast to even grab at my camera but... I am SO happy to know he's there again. I had missed him a lot this year not knowing why he stayed away.

Nissim, a fisherman I have very sparse conversations with because he makes me know in exactly what light he would like to see me and I am quite disgusted by that (but otherwise a very sweet man) wanted to put up a show for 2 cyclists who stood near him and took pictures of Mr. Egret. He told the men to move a little back, he arranged the whole scene and then threw a fish (Televisia) on the floor in front of Mr. Egret. In the meanwhile a cat came running down and took the fish away right from under Mr. Egret's and our nose (the audience). I couldn't stop laughing. I almost fell off my feet. It was SOOOO funny!

Obviously, Mr. Egret who saw a meal pass by his nose was terribly insulted and decided to take to 'higher grounds' just so he could show his indignance :D

Luckily enough Nissim then caught another small fish and threw it to the floor (after the audience had dissolved laughing loudly). I could almost hear Mr. Egret groan :YESHHHH BaBY!!" :D

A few more photos of Mr. Egret. I know I photograph him too much but I can't help it. In these photos I would add the caption "I'm showing you the beauty of my wings, so LOOK at them and consider yourself lucky to have the opportunity to do so" and "I'm free. . . and you?"

I also saw a flock of Shags fly down south. They were forming a perfect arrow and seemed to suggest "I'll point out the direction"

The newly opened (well last week) Gordon Swimmingpool seemed to already have an emergency on their hands (fast, no?) because ambulances and police were called for:

And then there is this mystery thing... It looked like a kinda rock from afar but on the photo I can see it definitely is not. Also it doesn't really look like an average (dead) fish. I really wonder what this is...

======================

I haven't seen Ms. Cat now for 2 consecutive weeks. I am starting to get worried. Today another kitty crept out of the place she usually sleeps under.

Circles

As angry as the sea was yesterday, as velvety and comforting he seemed today. It's not that he wasn't wild but he was 'tender' (for as far such a thing can be said about the sea). The sound that was accompanying his strong waves was as if whispering all around me and nothing else could be heard. He also didn't take up all of my concentration as usually is the matter when I'm standing near him. No, he left me thinking about a few puzzles in my life mixed with the feeling that as of today, the 25th of July - the day my dear beloved father departed this world 25 years ago- and after I had laid the remains of my mum to rest in his grave this week, I closed a circle at a place all three of us, dad, mum and me, loved so much: the sea.

At a small garden near my home a woman with a very fat Labrador exited and the Labrador came up to me and sat down right in front of me. As if to say "Here I am, you can't get around me now", hahahaha. Soooooooo sweet. The poor thing had Catarrh problems and her beautiful greenish eyes were looking 'dumb'. Only after I had cuddled her for some time her owner said "come on" and with looking around at me the Labrador went on her way.

The sea noticed probably that I was wound up in thoughts because it happened twice(!) that his waves threw a fish before my feet at my mezah!! (Yes, that catches my attention) - I always wondered how those fish I sometimes see in the puddle in the middle get there but now I know: the waves of the sea simply throws them there. Obviously I got up and threw them back in with the tip of my sandal. Quite a 'mission' because the waves were coming from everywhere and when I left -a whole lot later- I saw they suddenly have placed a sign near the entrance saying it is forbidden to get down to the mezah because it is dangerous. Well they can place signs as much as they want but down to my mezah I go. Let somebody try to stop me. Grrrrrrrr.

I did have to laugh though. Here were the fishermen trying to get fish on their bait and the sea was just throwing what they are hunting for right in front of my feet, hahahahahaha.

Not yet able to understand this week is over

I set out early and the weather was great though it said it was already 28 degr. C. at 06:15 a.m. this morning. Soon though the heat (but mostly the humidity) started to play up again. I hadn't even reached the Nemaal yet.

After having had a (minor but irritating) surgery this week and burying my mom for the second time (in a grave I bought for both her and my dad) without me being present, I was just DYING to meet with the sea. His presence makes me calm and relativate things. Today he was looking angry though. Not only his waves but mostly the foam he 'spat out' near me at the top of my mezah. Like someone who's angry and has foam around the side of his lips. I don't know what that means and if I should even think it means anything. But was feeling aware of it. This summer, as contrary to last year's summer, there are no perky Kingfishers at the Nemaal and the sea is much, much more 'wild'. There are no colorful crabs stuck on the side of the pond's walls or walking on the bottom of the waters there. Why? Pollution? There's something going on. Something not good.

Photos of a bud that fell on a leaf and stuck itself there as if to save itself from a 'downfall' (and the consequent death, which I think will happen anyway being cut off from the fluids of life that the plant feeds him), the white foam of the sea (but not really expressing the impressiveness of it), a tiny little bird (I think it was either the Palestinian Sunbird or a Warble) who tempted me with its song to look and then watched me as if saying "huh??" and of a tree growing Rimonim (granate apples?)

I'm still not able to come to terms with what has happened over the last 30 years. I must be crazy.

"Mother's Day"

Today my mum was buried for the second time. Isn't it strange that I always discover too late who is a hero? Here's for my hero, my mum:

After 12 years without you I'm still feeling sore from missing you!

Warm days.....

Yesterday left too late (07:30 a.m. which leaves the Israeli street already in a buzz for the coming day of shopping for Shabbat etc.) to be able to enjoy the relative quiet from early mornings and subsequent songs of the birds. And, today, did a total different walk - not in the route but by that I left in the afternoon (13:00 p.m.) while it was extremely hot already but I so thoroughly enjoyed it because I walked together with my son.

Photos of yesterday and one of today:

Warm but nice

is how the weather was today. At least in the morning. Left the house just before 06:00 a.m. I believe. The photos tell the 'story':

Walked under a lemon tree:
11-7-2009-lemontree

Saw many beautiful flowers on my way (as usual really) and this tiny, little thing that has red berries from which purple flowers bloom:
11-7-2009-mix

This colorful sweetie stuck its beautiful head out of the 'green' and other more subdued colors surrounding him:

Stood under Fairytaletree and looked up and saw this:
11-7-2009-fairytaletree

At Nordau Blvd. a few leaves on one of the many, many magnificent trees were lighted by what seems like a stray ray of the sun in a place where there was only shadow (because of the trees):
11-7-2009-light-leaves

The little kitty I was so worried about last year (as can be read on this blog) had once again placed herself in the middle of the boardwalk and now for me her name is 'middle of the road cat':
11-7-2009-middle-of-the-road-cat

Look at how Ms. Cat is lovingly looking at me :-* Yes, dear, I love you too. I did scold at a boy who came down the stairs and stirred her with his fishing rod. His dad was there too and I think they 'got the message'.
11-7-2009-yes-i-love-u-2

While standing on the mezah with only one fisherman there we saw a fish diver approach and we (the fishermen on the boardwalk descended to watch the catch) all admired his catch. They are all "Zipora's" and two (the brown ones) Locus.

When walking back this little creature (a wasp) sat on my chest (on my shirt) and instinctively I shoved him away - he fell down and never got back up. Very strange because he did move around. I felt sorry for him. But, what could I do? If I'd try to pick him up he would have stung me..

Back home I discovered a tiger in our garden :D

Wonderful Friday

It was already rather hot at 06:00 a.m. this morning when I set out. 29 degr. C. and a humidity that really is making those temperatures heavy. Many thoughts went through my mind and heart again while walking and they are forgotten soon as I'm encountering a new experience on the route. Let alone by the time I get home. All those thoughts... they must have been billions by now and part of my life though I don't remember them.

I stood on my mezah and an old man (I am an old woman but still call others being slightly older as I am 'old', this will never die I will always stay 'the little chiild' for myself) came kayaking by and then returned paddling towards me. He just had to tell me he never in his life saw such a happy face before in his life. I was watching the sea and being absorbed by it so that's no big surprise. But... this was actually the very first time someone stopped and remarked about a happy face I have. In the past lots of people used to stop me and ask why I look so sad......

Beautiful Harry (hairy):

This is the pale (tired from a night long transmitting energy in the form of light) moon early in the morning with the sun coming up on the other side of the skies:

Mr. Egret was eating a crab -though that can't be seen in the photo:

A windowwasher (or whatever it's called in English) of high buildings. Something I wish would be my job:

A dog sniffing at where there was a tree last week. Yes. They killed it. The municipality. Those Sesme (Indian) trees that had stood there for over 60 years have been murdered. It is my experience that one can never win a municipality or other burocrative institutions. I bet there is money involved here. Usually there is. For the municipality that is. HUGE SHAME on them!!!!!

I heard him arguing with other birds high in a tree and then, as he crossed the road in front of me, I thought it was a Jay as well but... it turned out he isn't. Don't know what he is then because although he looks like a Mynah the coloring is wrong:

And.......... Ms. Cat of course:

Met the old acquaintance again who I met last year as well and haven't heard from since then. It was nice talking. Then I went on to 'my fishermen'. I feel totally comfortable in their middle. I think I am slowly becoming 'one of the guys' :D

Note: Aroma's Ice-Yoghurt is delicious....

Here we go again: tomorrow the start of yet another strenuous week of work, work, work. Isn't there a nice, handsome millionaire reading this blog who wants to marry me? I want to become a Lady of Leisure :D
